Professional Development

MACA offers a multitude of professional development opportunities to clerks with varying levels of experience.

ANNUAL SPRING EDUCATIONAL CONFERENCE
This week long conference is held in late May at the Lake of the Ozarks and has proven to be beneficial year after year. With nearly 30 CEUs available at the conference, you are sure to learn useful information such as accounting procedures, upcoming legislation, and Department of Revenue reporting. Members look forward to choosing among a wide range of educational and personal enrichment sessions that will best suit their needs. The conference is also a great place to network while earning CEU credits to obtain or maintain your CCA. The Association’s Social Committee also provides enjoyable entertainment each year such as dances, carnivals, scenic lake cruises, and early bird walks.

NEW CLERKS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SEMINAR
MACA conducts an annual professional development seminar for clerks with less than three years of court experience. Speakers normally include representatives from the Department of Revenue, Office of State Court Administrator, and a session with experienced clerks ready to answer the numerous questions that arise. This seminar is a “must” for every new clerk.

ADVANCED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT SEMINAR
MACA hosts an annual advanced professional development seminar for clerks who just attended the above seminar or who have more than three years of court experience. This seminar goes beyond the basics and gives the experienced clerk an opportunity to explore more complex problems and procedures.
